Schnozz Paintings
This is a reconstruction of Hell Creek, around 67-66 million years ago in what would now be modern day Montana. The battle for survival between animals was at an all time high during the Cretaceous period. Fierce predatory dinosaurs like nanotyrannus would be constantly on the hunt for smaller prey that seemed like a tasty snack. In this instances, baby triceratops is on the menu. Will he survive? Classic big mama triceratops will not make it easy, she weighs 12 tons. The fate of Bartholomew Chungus Gingersnap III lies in the balance all while Obamadon watches. This is my interpretation of these three extinct animals in a prehistoric forest. Painted with gouache over 30 hours. Originally I sketched this concept digitally and then transferred it to watercolor paper. Watercolor grisaille/underpainting was done in orange. The rest of the piece was completed using gouache and acrylic markers.
